What is HOST?

Blue Ridge Host is a membership marketing organization serving the Blue Ridge Parkway and Southwestern Virginia dedicated to promoting the heart of the Blue Ridge Parkway as a visitor destination. We support the Galax-Carroll-Grayson, Mount Airy, Carroll, Patrick, and Floyd Chambers of Commerce and the areas they serve.

Formed in 2004 as a cooperative marketing organization to promote the Heritage of the Blue Ridge and the surrounding areas through pooled capitol in the form of membership and advertising efforts.

Primary mission is to attract visitors to the Parkway and surrounding areas through the support of festivals, craft shows, car shows, business, event, and attraction locator maps, and a tourism welcome center. Emphasis will be placed on Virginia’s Appalachian Heritage and bluegrass music roots.

Our Web site will provide advertising and marketing opportunities. A mail out campaign and a data base of visitors will be used to keep tourist informed of special events and attractions. Locator maps will provide information on businesses, and special events or attractions.
